I'm leaving for Italy on Monday, so there will be no IPNO until, at least, January 7th.

While I'm abroad, incoming texts are free, so feel free to send me amusing tidbits, sports-related or not. I'll have email access once a day or so, since I've only got 50 megs of iPhone data transfer before AT&T starts charging me $20 (yes, twenty dollars) per megabyte.

From the moment I found myself capable of writing coherent sentences with one of those huge pencils in kindergarten, I've been fond of written word as a form of communication. As I've gone to college and majored in engineering, my opportunities to write have declined in number and quality.
I decided to start writing this blog once I realized my friends were sick of hearing me talk about sports, particularly when so few of them shared the same team interests.
The "pool" referenced in the title block is not a pool at all. It's the blue area of the goal crease in hockey. Geometry is a serious discipline in goaltending. Increase the depth of your body in the net and you decrease the available empty net area.
